Why I Read

There are several reasons that I read. Reading is important because they can teach me about history or certain lessons. Also reading exercises a certain spot in your brain that is good to do. I enjoy reading because I find some stories interesting. Also some stories have characters that you can easily relate to which makes them interesting. Some books like Catcher in The Rye are somewhat confusing but that’s why you keep reading so you can try to understand what is going on. I also read some of the books because I have seen the movie and most people find that the book is better than the movie because it has more detail, which makes me want to read it. Also some books that have been rated well I am more likely to read because I don’t have a ton of time on my hands to test out books before I know they are good or bad. Or I may read a book because it is part of a series so I know I can read one and know the whole story won’t end after 400 pages. But the main reason I read is probably because I need to escape from all the chaos of the real world I’m always busy so it’s kind of nice every now and then to just read somewhere quite.

  1. I agree about movies making me want to read some books. The book lets you experience the story a little longer. Good point, too, about how reading lets people escape chaos for a little while.
